Winter’s Dance
By first thought and glance
Cold & harsh is winter’s dance
But look deeper into thy soul
Dark & despair
Wild and whole
Silence behold
There is gentleness
Beneath the cold
Earth stands still
Holding her breath at will
Send out a chill
Trees afraid to move
Dare not sway in the breeze
Succumb to the bitter freeze
Everything is numb
Beyond the gentle hum
Signs of death we fear
Snow falls like a gentle tear
So light & endearing
Disappearing
Silent in the night
Invite with delight
Winter’s dance
Gentleness beyond the glance
Take a chance
Invite the darkest trance
Death & dying
Blood floods
The streets
Afraid of the stranger
You meet
Spirit seek
Lift the sheet
Self greet
Icy reflection
Inner connection
Beyond rejection
Frozen perfection
Resurrection
Gentle is the cold
Winter’s dance
Beyond the first glance
No longer controlled
Frozen fingers hold
Icy gold
Silence of the heart
No longer beat
Death lies at your feet
Melts from the heat
Circle now complete
Motionless
Silence still
Static
Charismatic
Pragmatic
No fires to burn
No steps to learn
Beyond concern
No longer yearn
Ashes fill the urn
Touch of your return
Knowledge earn
Not harsh & cold
No not bold
Silence told
Winter’s dance
Beyond first glance
Unfold
